SMS Consent
Krattley Labs is a personal hobby project that builds small apps for family and friends. Some of these apps send text notifications. We only text people who have agreed to receive messages, using the process below.
How consent is collected
Consent is collected verbally and in person. Before adding anyone's number, the Krattley Labs owner reads this script word for word:
"Krattley Labs would like to send you text message notifications from its apps, such as reminders and account updates. You'll get up to 100 messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP at any time for help, or reply STOP to stop receiving messages. Agreeing is optional, and you can still use the apps without texts. You can read the Terms at krattley.net/terms and the Privacy Policy at krattley.net/privacy. Your mobile number will not be shared with third parties. Do you agree to receive text messages from Krattley Labs? Please answer yes or no."
What happens next
- If the person says no, or doesn't give a clear yes, their number is not added.
- If the person says yes, the owner records their name, mobile number, and the date of consent as proof of consent. Then the number is added to the app.
- The person immediately receives this confirmation text: Krattley Labs: You're enrolled in app notifications. Up to 100 msgs/mo. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Help and opt-out
- Reply HELP to receive: Krattley Labs: For help, contact dedalus74@gmail.com. Up to 100 msgs/mo. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
- Reply STOP to receive: Krattley Labs: You've been unsubscribed and will not receive more messages. Reply START to resubscribe.
- You can also ask the owner in person to stop texts at any time.
